The old town: The old town of Lyon has been painstakingly restored so that visitors can enjoy spending a few hours in an area from an era gone by. On Rue St Jean; you can see the neoclassical structure of the Palais de Justice while the Quartier St-Georges is famous for the Cafe du Soleil, the Musée Historique de Lyon and the Musée de la Marionnette (Puppet Museum).
Lle Barbe: Is an island that was used as a monastery since the 5th century; the island presented the perfect environment for the monks to cultivate everything that they needed for their survival. Only a few bas relief runs remain of the monastery but visitors can enjoy the medieval atmosphere.
Theâtre de Guignol: This is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Lyon; the theatre is famous for its renditions of family oriented dramas, new musicals etc; it was recently acquired by the Zonzon theater company.
Musée des Beaux-Arts: The museum is located to the south of Place de Terreaux in a building which was formerly a Benedictine convent; the museum features several art pieces representative of various eras; the modern age is particularly well represented in the museum.
