Top Ten Beaches for Motorhome Rentals
As Argentina borders the Atlantic Ocean on its east coast, that’s where you’ll find its beaches, unless of course you fancy a dip on the very south coast in the Beagle Channel? No, perhaps not a good idea. Here are a few of the best beaches to try out on your motorhome rental or campervan hire holiday.
The beach of Mar del Plata is Argentina’s oldest beach resort, built in 1874, its 17Km long and surrounded by hills. During the summer this place is packed because this is where the Argentineans come to holiday. There’s some good beach and sun by day, and at night the clubs and bars are the attraction. There’s lots of places to stay in the area, if you like it busy then head towards Playa Grande, or for something a little quieter try Playa Punta Mogotes.
Villa Gesell is a small town which is slowly becoming more popular and therefore more built up, however it’s still not spoilt. The area is surrounded by shady trees and there’s a good atmosphere here. If you travel a little further out of town the beaches of Mar Azul and Mar de las Pampas are much quieter.
Necochea beach is huge, it stretches for 74Km, so you’re bound to find a spot somewhere. The central part of the beach is more commercialised and busy with a range of shops, bars, and restaurants and if you’re looking for a less urban feel head west for the sand dunes, an area which is often ignored.
Up Market beaches
For designer shops and restaurants, head for Pinamar, a very attractive resort. This is where the rich Argentineans come, so accommodation is pricey, good job you’ve got a motorhome rental or campervan hire, the hotels here are extortionate. The beach is very beautiful though, and during the evening the area has a more relaxed feel than Mar del Plata
If you thought Pinamar was for the rich, visit Cariló, this really is where the elite come. Everything here is beautiful and well maintained, that includes the people! The beach is surrounded by greenery, and there are some lovely cabins dotted along the coastline.
The pretty town of Miramar has a lovely quiet beach popular with cyclists and families, the waters are calm and the beach is very clean and safe
If you like a truly remote feel visit Pehuén Có. This is nature at its best, and not a sole around, there are no buildings, shops, or ice-cream sellers, just a beautiful sandy beach. This is an ideal spot for visitors with a motorhome rental or campervan hire.
There are lots of choices when it comes to beaches in Argentina, whether you enjoy rubbing shoulders with the beautiful people, or having the whole beach to yourself, there is something for everyone here.
